BEING HUMAN: Part One

“Our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s future. And we are all mortal”
John F Kennedy;  American Universities Speech June 10, 1963

In all of our lives, and the infinitesimal speck of cosmic eternity that our humble lifetimes are, if we are careful, persistent and not a little lucky we can get a glimpse of the saga of humankind and the panorama of the ages. And that microscopic snapshot reveals a human world in catastrophic, chaotic collision. We are engaged in a monstrous battleground where the future of our life force on earth is in deadly peril. The real story written in the sacred legends of time has been a cataclysmic human struggle between a dark, prehistoric ignorance lurking deep within us, and the searching, hopeful evolution into a new Human species and higher consciousness somehow promising survival, renaissance and a New Way to be Human on earth. It is a global conflict between darkness and light, a war raging deep inside us, ourselves.

Here in this incredibly magnificent sanctuary of the Pacific Northwest there is beauty, peace and natural glory all around us. In the heritage of our ancestral native fellow Humans before us, the sacred wonder of Mother Earth speaks of a promised unity and a sublime spirit that inhabits and serenades us everywhere we look, and with every step we take. There, just beyond the edges of our civilized, social amenities the parade of the seasons, the mystery of the cosmos, the song of the universe and the natural rhapsody of a living planet is still alive. Still breathing. Still uncorrupted. Still wild.
